About your trip

Explore the Faroe Islands offer thrilling experiences and a rugged environment: steep cliffs rising from the open sea, narrow straits between the islands, natural harbours surrounded by small villages and a countless number of birds. The Faroese are proud people, who due to the geographical location have been able to preserve their own culture and their own language which has its roots in the Old Norse language from the Viking Age. History is still an integral part of the daily life – it is one of the few places in the world where you can still experience the old medieval ballads & chain dance, which people in Europe practiced more than 800 years ago.

Thingvellir National Park is a natural wonder on a international scale, with the geologic history and the bio-system of Lake Thingvallavatn forming a unique entity. The faults and fissures of the area make evident the rifting of the earth’s crust and the ecosystem of Lake Thingvallavatn is a perfect example of species evolution in nature. The park is one of the most frequently visited tourist sites in Iceland where thousands of visitors go to become better acquainted with Iceland’s greatest historical site and jewel of nature.  With a 105-foot double-cascade, Gullfoss (“Golden Falls”) is by far Europe’s most powerful waterfall. On a sunlit day, the mist clouds surrounding the hammering falls are filled with dozens of rainbows, providing an unparalleled spectacle of color and motion, making it truly a spectacular sight.  The entire Geysir geothermal field is a delight for the senses with hot springs and geysers setting up a delightful performance and shooting jets of water high in the air.
