The influence of the Austrian, Ottoman, and Communist occupation is very visually evident in the country’s diverse architecture. This became even more evident as I went to the countryside, where the high mountain peaks, thick forests, and ancient castles (especially in Transylvania) are said to inspire the Bram Stoker novel Dracula.
