DAY 1 ARRIVE QUITO – OTAVALO
Welcome to Ecuador, a colourful country featuring dramatic topography, diverse climates and undeniable charm. A local host greets you at the airport for a transfer to your lovely hotel in the village of San Pablo del Lago, just outside Otavalo, ideally situated at the base of the Imbabura Volcano. Hacienda Cusin, founded in 1602, is one of the oldest haciendas in all of Ecuador. Enjoy the rest of your day to relax and get settled in.
DAY 2 OTAVALO SIGHTSEEING
Depart mid-morning to meet a local family who introduces you to the Andean tradition and Cultural Insight of flute-making, including a musical interlude using the handmade instruments. You’ll even get the chance to try playing the instruments yourself. Enjoy a Welcome Reception lunch with your Travel Director and fellow travellers at a traditional hacienda. Visit the public market alongside native Otavalenos and put your bartering skills to the test. Stroll through the different vendor stalls offering a variety of handcrafted items in search of the perfect keepsake.
DAY 3 OTAVALO – CAYAMBE – QUITO
Your morning is at leisure before heading to Cayambe where you will meet a local family for a Be My Guest lunch at the Hacienda La Compania, a beautiful home and rose plantation. Tour the grounds including the charming chapel and learn about the roses grown here before indulging in a delicious meal of Ecuadorian specialities. Arrive in Quito and enjoy the evening to relax.
DAY 4 QUITO SIGHTSEEING – EQUATORIAL LINE MONUMENT
Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Quito, Ecuador’s capital city and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Learn all about the religious and cultural influences of this bustling city, located just 14 miles (22 kilometres) from the Equatorial Line. Visit a candy shop to watch a third generation candy-maker create a traditional Ecuadorian candy called colaciones, a Cultural Insight. Stroll along La Ronda, one of the oldest streets in Quito and an artist mecca during the 1930s. Eat lunch at a local restaurant and try another Cultural Insight, canelazo, a delicious spiced cinnamon rum drink. Continue to the Equatorial Line Monument and don’t miss the chance to stand in both the northern and southern hemispheres at the same time. Later, meet a Local Specialist, an organic Ecuadorian chocolate-maker, who tells you all about the production process and brings samples for all to enjoy. Indulge in a Regional Meal this evening featuring delicious local cuisine.
DAY 5 QUITO – COTOPAXI NATIONAL PARK – RIOBAMBA
Travel south along the Panamerican Highway, through stunning landscapes of valleys and mountains before arriving at Cotopaxi National Park, the site of an active volcano standing 19,642 feet (5,987 metres) high. Meet a Local Specialist who shares his knowledge and passion for this spectacular natural wonder. Continue on to Limpiopungo Lake where you’ll observe a great number of high-altitude birds, and occasionally, wild horses. Return to the valley where lunch awaits at a 300-year-old hacienda. Venture back to the main road and continue along the “Avenue of the Volcanoes.” Riobamba awaits as you continue alongside massive Chimborazo, the highest mountain in Ecuador.
DAY 6 RIOBAMBA – ALAUSI – INGAPIRCA – CUENCA
Head south to the train station in Alausi where you board the Devil’s Nose Train, an engineering feat of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The railway allows you to discover the topographic obstacles of Ecuador’s diverse landscape as you zigzag down the steep mountainside. Disembark at Sibambe to visit the local museum built and run by the Nizag community. See the display of local handcrafts, fruits and medicinal plants and try the local coffee. After your train journey, enjoy a picnic lunch and then visit the Inca ruins of Ingapirca, considered the most important archaeological site in Ecuador.
DAY 7 CUENCA SIGHTSEEING AND FREE TIME
Discover the charm of Cuenca with a Local Specialist and admire the red-tiled roofs, cobblestone streets and flowery plazas. Founded as a Spanish settlement in 1557, the beauty of its landscape combined with the harmony between old and modern architecture has prompted UNESCO to name Cuenca a World Cultural Heritage Site. Today’s highlights include the Todos los Santos ruins, flower market, and the main square surrounded by the imposing blue-domed Cathedral. Then visit a few surrounding communities including an arts and crafts village for a Cultural Insight into the ancient weaving process of Panama hats and other items made of toquilla straw using traditional methods that date back to pre-Columbian cultures. Enjoy the chance to watch pottery making while visiting a local pottery maker. The evening is yours to explore.
DAY 8 CUENCA – EL CAJAS NATIONAL PARK – GUAYAQUIL
Journey to Guayaquil through El Cajas National Park. Watch the ever changing flora and fauna as you travel through the beautiful cloud forests to the coast for a visit to a cacao plantation. Here, learn all about growing and harvesting of cacao and enjoy a delicious lunch. Arrive in Guayaquil and enjoy a short city tour. Tonight, toast an unforgettable holiday during a Farewell Dinner at a local restaurant.
DAY 9 DEPART GUAYAQUIL
Your Ecuadorian adventure comes to an end with a transfer to the airport for your flight home, or extend your stay in Guayaquil at the Hotel Oro Verde.

Rest assured that all these details are privately kept by World Juanderer for one-time purpose only, if and only if you avail services once, and not transferrable to any other client or business.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- YOUR HOLIDAY RESERVATION
On receipt of your deposit, subject to availability and at our discretion, World Juanderer will reserve your place on your selected holiday. A contract is only made between you and us upon your booking being confirmed and accepted by us.
- PRICE
Prices are subject to change without prior notice. Each package tour and its add-ons are subject to change based on the tour operators and number or participants in the tour.
- IF WE CANCEL OR CHANGE YOUR HOLIDAY
3.1 World Juanderer reserves the right to change or cancel your booking in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control.
3.2 If an alternative is not available or acceptable, you will be entitled to either a full refund of monies paid by you to us or transfer to another World Juanderer holiday without payment of any transfer fee.
3.4 If the change or cancellation is due to force majeure (i.e. circumstances like political unrest, war or threat of war, riots, bad weather conditions etc.), we will give a full refund of any monies paid to us less reasonable expenses incurred by us in respect of your booking.
3.5 World Juanderer is not responsible for the costs of any other travel arrangements affected due to our cancellations or rescheduling of any trip departure.
- HOLIDAY DETAILS AND CONDITIONS
4.1 With our personal experience in traveling and joining these tour packages, World Juanderer will do our best, at our discretion, to select accommodation, sightseeing trips, and transportation to give you good value for money.
4.2 World Juanderer constantly strives to improve trip itineraries and features. If such improvements can be made, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control make changes necessary, we reserve the right to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels. World Juanderer is not responsible for any other travel arrangements affected due to our cancellations.
- LIABILITY
5.1 We will be entitled to keep for each account any interest earned on such monies.
5.3 All monies paid by you to us, whether in respect of the deposit or full payment, may be disbursed by us as and when we see fit, in respect of the services to be provided and/or fees payable under your selected holiday. The payment of a deposit or any other monies in respect of your holiday shall be deemed to be an authorization to disburse thereof as aforesaid.
BOOKING YOUR TRAVEL
1.1 In order to reserve your holiday, you must inquire and get in touch with the Travel Specialist to check the preferred travel package. World Juanderer accepts the deposit as a first installment of the holiday price only once World Juanderer has confirmed the booking in writing.
1.2 Deposit and final payment will be converted to the local currency (if payment is non-Philippines Peso) at point of booking. Conversion is based on the prevailing exchange rate at time of full/balance payment and what is released by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.
1.3 World Juanderer cannot guarantee special add-on requests nor will it assume any responsibility or liability if clients’ special requirements are not fulfilled.
PAYMENT
2.1 If payment isn’t made by the due date, World Juanderer may assume that you have cancelled and World Juanderer will levy cancellation charges in accordance with clause 3 below.
2.2 Tickets and other documents will not be forwarded until we have received full payment.
2.3 In the case of Late Bookings made within 45 days of your departure from your home country, the full cost of the holiday will be payable immediately on booking and we reserve the right to provide all travel documents at the holiday departure point.
