DAY 3: SYDNEY (BREAKFAST AND LUNCH)

The Blue Mountains Canyons and Wildlife Discovery is a real journey into the heart of a unique World Heritage Region. From temperate rainforests to towering sandstone escarpments, you’ll see and experience it all. Let the landscape work its wonders and become part of you for a lifetime. Your informative and knowledgeable guide will collect you from your Sydney hotel as you commence your small group deluxe tour into the heart of the unique Blue Mountains World Heritage Region. The first stop this morning is at Featherdale Wildlife Park where you arrive before any other tourists, to meet the native Australian animals here – you can actually get up close and personal, stroke a koala and hand feed kangaroos, wallabies and emus. Departing from Featherdale, commence the drive to the Blue Mountains via the highway. After a stop at the Wentworth Lookout, continue on and arrive at Eaglehawk Lookout, a remote lookout point away from the crowds for views of the famous 3 Sisters. Whilst the Blue Mountains features so much more than this natural attraction you can’t help but admire the unquestionable beauty of this amazing rock formation. The character of the Three Sisters changes throughout the day and throughout the seasons as the sunlight brings out the magnificent colors. Then journey around the mountain to the village of Blackheath and today’s lunch venue the Blackheath Golf Club. Here in this relaxed, friendly club you’ll enjoy a 2 course lunch (food only). All diets are catered for. Beverages can be purchased at your own expense from the bar. The afternoon is spent visiting a selection of lookouts. Once you clap your eyes on the view from Govetts Leap you’ll know why it’s one of the most famous lookouts in Australia. The magnificent waterfall drops a whopping 180 meters to the base of the cliff. The last stop is the delightful Mt Tomah Botanic Gardens where you’ll stop to enjoy the sweeping views across to Sydney and enjoy a glass of sparkling wine or orange juice before travelling down the Bells Line of Road to arrive back at your hotel approximately 4.30 – 5.00 p.m. Accommodation: Grace Hotel Sydney (4*)

DAY 4: SYDNEY – AYERS ROCK (BREAKFAST)

A private transfer from Sydney to the airport is provided. Come and join your guide to explore the most profound and culturally significant monolith in Australia. Departing the resort the tour will travel thorough the landscapes to the entrance of the Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park. From this point it is only a matter of minutes before the spectra of Uluru rises from the sand dunes to demonstrate its enormity and presence in this country. The first step allows you a photographic opportunity of this amazing icon. With Uluru looming in front of you, your guide journey toward the base. Walk with your guide to a place of tranquility. The closer you wander the more you surrender to the realization of the sheer size of this monolith. As you drive around the base, your guide will take you to the entrance of Mutitjulu Waterhole, a semi-permanent watercourse nestled in the contours of Uluru. Here you will learn the Creation stories of Liru (poisonous snake) and Kuniya (python) as well as a number of other stories associated with other prominent Tjukurpa (Dreaming) stories. You will see the rock art of the ancients and learn how Uluru was, and still is, a significant location for teaching young Aboriginal people. Then adjourn to the new Talinguru Nyakunytjaku viewing area where you will observe an uninterrupted view of Uluru with Kata Tjuta in the background. Accommodation: Desert Gardens (4*)

DAY 5: AYERS ROCK (BREAKFAST AND DINNER)

Revel in the early morning serenity of a truly spiritual place as the sunrise colors change on Kata Tjuta. Departing the resort you will travel through the landscape to the entrance of Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park. From there is it a 40 kilometer journey through the desert landscape to the mighty rock formation. On arrival at the viewing area you walk to the best vantage point to see the 36 domes that comprise this spiritual place while watching the sun’s morning glow as the desert comes alive. Make your way to the western side of Kata Tjuta where you will have the opportunity to relax and enjoy an outback picnic breakfast. As you approach the entrance to Walpa Gorge, named for the wind (Walpa) that whistles between the massive domes that shape Kata Tjuta, the result of eons of weathering and continual upheaval, your guide will share the significance of this men’s sacred ceremonial site. Take a stroll between these mighty conglomerate rock walls as your guide explains how the environment and the geology has evolved over millions of years. Your guide will return you to your accommodation at Ayers Rock Resort. At the Sounds of Silence experience, you can dine under the canopy of the desert night, while your very own storyteller shares tales as told in the stars. Entered into the Australian Tourism Hall of Fame, Sounds of Silence offers the best of the Red Centre distilled into four magical hours – an evening of dining under the sparkling outback sky. Your Sounds of Silence experience begins with canapés and chilled sparkling wine served on a viewing platform overlooking the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. As the sun sets and darkness falls, listen to the sound of a didgeridoo and join your table for an unforgettable dining experience and an introduction to Aboriginal culture with a traditional dance performance under the outback sky. The attentive staff will keep your glass full with a quality selection of Australian wine and beer while first course is served. As the night sky twinkles to life, feast on a bush tucker inspired buffet that incorporates native bush ingredients such as crocodile, kangaroo, barramundi and quandong. Settle back and listen to the resident star talker decode the southern night sky.
